hmmm... the internet is so frustrating when it doesn't work properly!!
I am trying to use Mac Telnet and Terminal but it's not working... I have used both these programs before and I know they work, so I am guessing at the moment there is a problem with transferring information from my current location (South Korea) to Australia... will try again tomorrow!

I've figured it out!! It was my mistake.... Before entering library.deakin.edu.au you need to type in Telnet, so it would be telnet library.deakin.edu.au. I hadn't used this kind of method before, but i think it would have been a great way to access files a long time ago!. Technology has come a long way.
